This is an ordered calendar helper, not a complete sankalpa mantra. It uses Shaka lunar year with local Ugadi rollover, amanta lunar month, Drik Ritu as used by drikpanchang.com (from the Sun's tropical longitude at the owning sunrise; it can differ from the lunar-month ritu) and sidereal Makara/Karka ayana. Other traditions use different ayana or ritu definitions. Check your family's practice.
Tithi and paksha use the current instant. Year, ayana, ritu and maasa use the owning local sunrise; before sunrise, the Hindu day remains the previous day. The day shown uses that same sunrise-day convention.
Sunrise uses the Sun's upper edge, standard atmospheric refraction and zero elevation. This ignores your terrain and altitude. Polar days/nights are unsupported. Coverage is limited to 2026-2027 while testing continues.
The pinned MIT engine uses a Swiss-aligned Lahiri realization and an empirical elongation correction. Cross-engine checks are not religious validation. The beta's daily-reference audit had a seconds-level karana disagreement in Pleasanton on March 18, 2026; live use close to sunrise or tithi change should be checked independently.
No ads, analytics, remote calendar API, server storage or automatic location request. Approximate timezone lookup occurs locally. Review/correct it, especially near a timezone border.
